Healthy improvements
As part of a UK based multi-billion-pound systems overhaul
project, Edgewing has implemented a Data Management solution
based on Business Objects technology for a leading Health
Service Provider. This system is helping to deliver a
comprehensive record management system that improves
how patient information is stored, accessed and shared.
Edgewing’s consultancy
team delivered, on time and to specification, a Data
Management architecture that contributes to a central
repository of information connecting Local Health Service
Providers across the country. The resulting network
provides health service professionals and patients
with a lifelong electronic care record. This system
improves operational efficiency and productivity and
allows medical practitioners to focus on delivering
the best possible patient care.
Supply on demand
A major UK catalogue and High Street retailer significantly
improved the visibility and reporting capacity of its
supply chain management system with the Data Management
suite implemented by Edgewing.
A complex three-tiered
enterprise management information system has been successfully
consolidated into a single reporting layer. Managers
now have a single view of accurate data on every aspect
of physical supply chain functions, including stock
control, distribution, sales and ordering. Enhanced
executive information analysis on consumer demand patterns
and warehouse and retail store performance has further
increased the group’s ability to react
more dynamically to changing market situations.
Complete account
With the help of Edgewing
consultants and Business Objects Data Integrator, a
leading International banking group has created a Data
Management architecture that complies with Basel II
risk management requirements. This system builds a
complete picture of each customer’s
financial history and enables the bank to accurately
define and manage its overall risk profile.
Edgewing implemented
a data integration suite which extracts data from the
bank’s many disparate systems;
this covers bank accounts, mortgages, loans and credit
card facilities. The data is gathered into a data warehouse
and updated continuously to give a comprehensive, integrated
report on each customer. The bank processes around a
terabyte of data each month comprising six million accounts,
two million customers and three years’ worth of
historical information. This system has increased the
speed and flexibility of financial risk management -
as a result the bank is in a much stronger position to
identify and manage the difference between a good loan
and a bad one.
On the right road
Edgewing has helped a
major automotive manufacturer to completely overhaul
its reporting systems in its after-sales and parts
sales operations. Edgewing consultants accurately identified
the vital business processes of the existing system,
which was struggling to cope with increasing amounts
of data and was becoming unreliable as well as time-consuming
and complicated for staff to access manually. Edgewing
built an Oracle data warehouse which measures objectives
and targets against actual sales performance. The reports
are automatically loaded overnight and distributed
to the dealer network, ready for staff to access as
they arrive for work the next day and to use as a basis
for decision making. The new system is reliable, significantly
more efficient and has greatly increased productivity
by freeing staff from checking the accuracy of reports
to take on more value- added tasks.
